MeMeFibre™ · Functional materials platform

HUSKORA™

Carbon Born from Rice. Performance Woven In.

A rice-husk-derived platform that turns agricultural by-product into application-designed carbon, silica and carbon–silica materials for fibres, textiles, filtration and future intelligent surfaces.

Not a universal powder

Designed for the application — then engineered backward.

HUSKORA™ is not one universal powder searching for a purpose. Every grade begins with the intended application, then works backward to define particle size, pore structure, surface chemistry, carrier system and final product form.

Application→Performance Requirement→Material Structure→Product Form

Why rice husk?

A naturally distinctive carbon–silica architecture

By controlling purity, particle size, porosity, surface area and surface chemistry, HUSKORA™ is engineered for different end uses — not treated as a generic agricultural carbon.

Controlled desilication

Removing part of the silica to create and open accessible pore structures.

Retained silica architecture

Preserving selected silica content to develop carbon–silica and functional-silica materials.

Designed for the application

From performance target to product form

  1. 01

Define the application and measurable requirement.

  2. 02

Engineer the appropriate carbon, silica or carbon–silica structure.

  3. 03

Select particle size, pore distribution and surface treatment.

  4. 04

Choose delivery form: powder, dispersion, slurry, granule, pellet or polymer masterbatch.

  5. 05

Validate performance in the finished fibre, fabric, component or product.

First-generation carbon development prioritises steam and CO₂ activation. Additional chemical or surface-functionalisation routes are evaluated only where the application requires them.

Textile material platforms

Regenerated cellulose, polyester and polyamide — each with its own programme

HUSKORA™ CELL

  • Retention of the functional material within the fibre
  • Fibre strength, elongation, whiteness and colour control
  • Dyeability, moisture behaviour and hand feel
  • Wash durability and finished-product performance

Potential formats: viscose-compatible dispersions, concentrated aqueous slurries and application-specific functional additives.

HUSKORA™ PET

HUSKORA™ PA

For Nylon 6 and Nylon 66

Designed for polyamide fibres requiring controlled moisture, thermal stability and fine-particle dispersion.

  • Compatibility with Nylon 6 and Nylon 66
  • Moisture control and masterbatch stability
  • Melt filtration and spinneret performance
  • Suitability for fine-denier fibres
  • Strength, abrasion resistance, colour and dyeability
  • Hand feel and wash durability

Functional material families

Application-designed grades

C-ODOR

HUSKORA™ C-ODOR

Application-designed porous carbon for odour-management research in footwear, sportswear, bedding, interiors and selected consumer products. Performance claims will be made only after testing against defined target compounds in the relevant finished product.

C-AIR

HUSKORA™ C-AIR

Porous carbon and carbon–silica structures for air-filtration media, nonwovens and functional interior materials. Development focuses on pressure drop, adsorption performance, particle retention, service life and safe integration into the final filter structure.

C-TEX

HUSKORA™ C-TEX

Textile-grade materials engineered for internal fibre integration, masterbatch use, coating, printing or composite structures — apparel, underwear, outdoor, footwear, bedding, mattresses, automotive textiles and technical nonwovens.

C-WATER

HUSKORA™ C-WATER

Application-specific porous materials for water-treatment research. Each grade is designed around the target contaminant, water chemistry, flow conditions and regeneration requirements. PFAS-related work is a separate research programme — no PFAS-removal claim without compound-specific independent testing.

HUSKORA™ SMART SKIN

An intelligent material layer between the human body and the environment

Exploring how functional silica, mesoporous structures, photonic materials and carbon–silica systems can become part of a textile layer that responds to the body and surroundings — underwear, bedding, mattresses, outdoor clothing, sportswear, care textiles and future wearable systems.

First stage: passive response

Near-term functions through the material itself, without complex electronics.

  • Moisture and microclimate management
  • Thermal insulation and temperature management
  • Odour adsorption
  • Easy-care and soil-release surfaces
  • Optical or colour response to defined conditions
  • Pressure-distribution layers
  • Sleep-environment management

Second stage: active sensing

Longer-term integration with conductive fibres, flexible sensors and data systems.

  • Sweat and humidity sensing
  • Skin-surface and environmental temperature monitoring
  • Movement and posture detection
  • Mattress pressure mapping and sleep-position analysis
  • Prolonged sitting or lying alerts
  • Environmental exposure monitoring

Silica can act as a responsive structure, adsorption carrier or sensing interface. Electronic signal generation requires conductive materials, sensing components and a suitable readout system.

Target applications

Underwear & next-to-skin

Manage or respond to sweat, humidity, temperature and odour in everyday, sports and recovery apparel.

Bedding & mattresses

Sheets, pillowcases, duvets, ticking and pressure-responsive structures for comfort, hospitality and care.

Outdoor & performance

Materials for changing body and environmental conditions in sport, hiking, cold-weather and protective apparel.

Medical & care textiles

Research pathways for moisture, pressure and care-environment monitoring — subject to safety and regulatory validation.

Infant & senior care

Potential responsive materials for moisture indication, pressure management and environmental monitoring.

From material to market

Inside the MeMeFibre™ fibre-to-product network

This integrated route allows each material to be evaluated in the product where performance ultimately matters.

  • Rice-husk material science
  • Powder, dispersion and masterbatch development
  • Fibre and filament production
  • Yarn, fabric and nonwoven engineering
  • Apparel, bedding, mattress and filtration manufacturing
  • Finished-product testing
  • Global brand development and market introduction

Development and validation

HUSKORA™ is an active development platform. Performance depends on the selected grade, loading, carrier, process, substrate and final product construction. All claims must be supported by application-specific testing. Material-level results do not automatically transfer to a finished fibre, fabric, garment, mattress or filter. Antibacterial, medical, recovery, health, environmental-remediation and PFAS-related claims will not be used without appropriate independent evidence and, where applicable, regulatory review.
